Picture Book Read-a-Thon

Join Critique Group Coordinator, Judith Snyder, at Bess Johnson Library for a picture book Read-a-Thon on August 29 from 12:00-3:30pm CST in the meeting room.

Picture book writers and illustrators will benefit from a collection of over 60 award-winning picture books all in one place at one time, without having to research titles or order and wait for them to arrive. Awards range from Caldecott to Zolotow, to Kirkus Best Books, and more. Study the illustrations or the writing, or just fall into the magic of so many great books in one place.

If you are taking the Writing From the Inside Out - Picture Book Workshop or are looking for good picture book comps for your own writing, this will be a great opportunity to learn what is currently on the market. 

Sit and read for as long as you wish and immerse yourself in the magic of picture books. All books must stay in the meeting room for the duration of the event. At the end of the session, many of the books will be available to check out.

Everyone is welcome! Registration strongly encouraged. For those who sign up in advance, Judith will provide a spreadsheet of titles with author, copyright dates, and content notes that attendees can print and bring with.

Bess Johnson Library is part of the Omaha Public Library system. It is located at 2100 Reading Plz, in Elkhorn, Nebraska.
