Debbie McGinley brings magical realism to life through her lyrical language and vivid settings. Her young adult novels have been recognized by the Tassy Walden Awards for New Voices in Children's Literature, earning an Honorable Mention in 2022 and Finalist honors in 2019. Her work also was selected for the 2015-16 Nevada SCBWI Mentor Program. Before turning her attention to fiction writing, Debbie worked in corporate communications and public relations, leading campaigns for technology start-ups and Fortune 500 companies. She earned a master’s degree in journalism at Northwestern University and B.A. in communication at Stanford University. An active SCBWI member, Debbie runs the Westport Weston SCBWI Critique Group and lives in Westport, Connecticut with her husband and three children.
