Westchester Critique Group Information

What Is a Critique Group?

Critique groups take all kinds of forms, but the general idea is to meet on a regular basis to provide feedback on each other's work. Both writers and illustrators can benefit from this type of peer-to-peer feedback.

What Is a Beta Reader?

A beta reader typically reads or analyzes a complete draft of someone's work. This can include query letters, full manuscripts, partial manuscripts, or for illustrators, work that is close to completion or ready for submission.

How to Use This List:

There are 3 tabs on the google sheet: 1) FAQS 2) Potential Critique Members 3) BETA Readers

Once you are added to this list, feel free to reach out to members who might be a good match. Check back periodically, as more members will be added on an ongoing basis. Please take your name off the list if you no longer want to be contacted.

Guidelines:

Please do not spam the participants that are on this list. Read through to make connections with members who have similar backgrounds and interests. If you send a group email, please BCC everyone on it. If someone does not respond to your query, please limit your correspondence to one follow up email. That person may be inactive at the moment.

Sometimes it takes awhile to find a group - please be patient. Remember, a group can start with two people and you can always expand when new members are added to this list.
