Portfolio Showcase and Contest ($30)
5:00–7:00 p.m. Saturday, September 26
SCBWI Midsouth will host a juried Portfolio Showcase on Saturday, September 26th. To participate, select this option when registering for the conference.
Portfolios are not submitted in advance. Bring your portfolio to the registration table between 7:30-8:00 a.m. on Saturday.
Portfolios will have a private viewing with faculty before the Autograph Party and Cocktail Hour. Faculty members will be encouraged to mark their favorite pieces from all portfolios submitted, and an overall winner will be selected and announced at the Closing Announcements and Awards on Sunday.
One Grand Prize winner will be promoted on the Midsouth SCBWI regional webpage, in the Midsouth monthly newsletter and on our social media accounts, with prominent posts under the hashtag #kidlitart.
SHOWCASE GUIDELINES
- No digital portfolios. See the portfolio size and formatting guidelines in the Illustrators’ Lounge.
- One promotional piece (bookmarks, post cards, etc.) sized no larger than 5.5 x 8.5 may be displayed with your portfolio.
- Please collect your portfolio after the Autograph Party and Cocktail Hour at 7:00 p.m. SCBWI cannot be held responsible for damaged or torn materials and/or portfolios not picked up at that time.
- You must sign the Illustrator Release Form to participate in the showcase. Download it below.
- NOTE: If you are scheduled for a portfolio consultation, it is OK to pick up your portfolio from the showcase and take it to the consultation.
