Pricing and Policies
REGISTRATION
Registration for the Midsouth Conference closes when we reach 200 registrants or on September 1, whichever comes first. To register for the conference and select your breakout sessions, please visit the conference website—the "Register for Event" button will turn green at 2:00 p.m. Central time/3:00 p.m. Eastern time on May 9, 2026.
Please note that because of scheduling logistics, no changes can be made after September 1. Thank you for understanding.
SCBWI MIDSOUTH FALL CONFERENCE TUITION
Conference tuition includes:
- Opening Keynote
- Breakout sessions, Saturday and Sunday
- Buffet Lunch with Author/Illustrator panel
- First Pages sessions
- Observing of Pitch Critique sessions
- Viewing of Portfolio Showcase
- Autograph Party and Cocktail Hour
- Coffee and tea stations throughout the day, while supplies last
- Entry into prize drawings, including a FREE SCBWI membership renewal

- Face-to-Face Manuscript Critiques and Portfolio Reviews
- Agent AMAs (Ask-Me-Anything meetings)
- Having your pitch critiqued in a Pitch Session
- Entrance into the Portfolio Showcase

- Manuscript Critiques $100 for Choose Your Own Critiquer, $85 for Critiquer Chosen For You (price includes entry into the Manuscript Contest)
- Agent Ask-Me-Anything Meeting $85 (price includes a pre-conference AMA prep webinar)
- Portfolio Critiques $85
- Pitch Critiques $30 (price includes access to two pre-conference pitch practice webinars)
- Portfolio Showcase $30 (price includes entry into Portfolio Contest)
SCBWI MIDSOUTH CONFERENCE REFUND POLICY
There are no refunds for the Midsouth Conference except in the case of emergency. Requests for refunds are made in writing by submitting this form before September 1. In the rare case a refund is granted, it will always be less any credit card processing fees and any other processing expenses. There are no refunds for intensives, critiques, pitches, AMAs, or meals. SCBWI Midsouth’s general event refund policy can be read here.
SCBWI POLICIES AGREEMENT
You must be 18 years of age or older to attend SCBWI events, including the Midsouth Conference. By attending the conference, you agree to all SCBWI policies, including the non-discrimination/anti-harassment policy, policy prohibiting recording or distribution of conference materials and other policies outlined here, as well as its policy to maintain a firearms and weapons-free environment for the safety of all attendees and volunteers.
MIDSOUTH PROFESSIONALISM POLICY
Whether you are dealing with faculty, other attendees, or conference volunteers, raised voices, rude or unkind words, or behavior otherwise deemed inappropriate or abusive will not be tolerated. If you are asked to leave the conference, refunds will not be issued. Remember, too, when dealing with Midsouth committee members and officers that this region, and conference, is run entirely by people who volunteer their time! The Regional Advisors have the right to refuse admittance to anyone whose behavior is disruptive to the event, attendees, or faculty.
FOOD POLICY
While we make every attempt to accommodate food sensitivities, please understand that we cannot ensure every participant’s dietary preferences and food sensitivities for every meal. If you have serious allergies/sensitivities or strict food preferences, please bring supplementary food with you. Thank you for understanding.
PHOTO POLICY
Midsouth’s Social Media Coordinator will be present during the Midsouth conference. By attending the conference, you understand that you may appear in photos and videos that will be posted to the Midsouth’s social media channels, website and newsletter, as well as the social media channels, etc. of conference attendees.
You must agree to these policies to complete registration and attend the Midsouth Regional Conference.
