Welcome to California: North/Central!

Welcome to the northern and central California region! From the Oregon border to the agricultural wealth of central California, our region spans 35 counties. We recognize the Modoc, Maidu, Yana, Cayuse, Umtilla, Walla Walla, Nisenan, Miwok, Yokut and other Indigenous people as the original and continuous stewards of this land. You can find more information about native land on native-land.ca We seek input from over six hundred SCBWI premium members to provide programming that meets our writing and illustrating needs. Join our volunteer team to create safe, positive, and inclusive events such as conferences, critique groups, Lit Mingles, and other social gatherings.

JUNE AUTHOR SPOTLIGHT: ANGELICA SHIRLEY CARPENTER

Angelica Shirley Carpenter began writing with her mother, Jean Shirley, in the 1980s. Together they wrote middle-grade biographies: Frances Hodgson Burnett: Beyond the Secret Garden and L. Frank Baum, Royal Historian of Oz.
