Here are the samples of the different types of controls that we can use to create an SCBWI Webpage. (Yes. There are a lot of duplicate images in a control. These can be changed to separate images.)
Banner Graphic (Above) - Image Size
RIGHT Image Container Box -
Carousel Images - Optimal Dimensions: 1200X800
Resizing of the images is not scaled when the brower viewer size is changed. Instead the graphic resizes down to a specific dimension for that browser page size. This can result in VERY tiny images when displayed on a phone browser.
Banner with image that takes up the full width of the screen. Can include a button

NOTE: This is information for illustrators creating a Full Banner Image. Everyone else can ignore this section.
The banner height and width are not fixed pixel sizes. That means the aspect ratio can change based on the text content in the banners and the browser settings that the page is displayed on.
WHAT THAT MEANS FOR ARTISTS:
The size to create an illustration for a Full Banner Image is 3200 X 1000 px.
However this means that most of the image will be cropped when displayed with typical browser settings.
(If you want to see this in action. Go to the Florida homepage and then go to the view settings for your browser. Use the Zoom In function. As you zoom in. you will see more and more of the Girl with Aliigator picture be revealed.)
This issue only occurs when using Full Banner images. Using Right Images solves this problem.
However, for the Florida Landing Page we can only use Full images.
WORK AROUND;
This isn’t really a work around, but I think it’s the best way to address this.
Full Banner Images should be created like laying out illustrations for a picture book with a full bleed.
That means the Important Parts of the illustration is placed in the “Center Rectangle Safe Zone”.
Less important parts of the illustratation are placed outside of this area.
Even less important parts of the illustration are placed along the edge. (like background images.
I’ve attached a sample template to show where to place the most "important" graphics in a Full Banner Illustration.
NOTE: Full banner is only required for the regional landing page. It is better to use a Right Image Container in the header for the rest of the site and avoid all of the problems with a full image.
