Illustrators Day Contest
Deadline to enter: March 18, 2026
Design the promotional banner to illustrate our theme, “The Pen & The Palette.” The artwork will be used to advertise the event throughout SCBWI-L.A.’s communication channels (e.g., social media, email, blog, etc.) and on other event materials.
PRIZE:
The winner will receive free tuition to Writers & Illustrators Day 2026, plus recognition in Kite Tales and during the event. (Note: If you cannot attend Writers & Illustrators Day 2026, the prize of event admission cannot be postponed and will be forfeited.)
ILLUSTRATOR GUIDELINES:
1. You may enter ONE illustration only. The art should illustrate the theme “The Pen & the Palette.”
2. Submit one file (preferably .JPG) with the following specs:
- There should be NO TEXT on the image.
- 800 x 480 pixels
Note: The image should look good at full size as well as when shrunk down to be viewed on a smartphone (200 x 120 pixels), but only send the full-size version (800 x 480).
3. Label the image with SURNAME_ILLUSTRATOR CONTEST. Example: Smith_Illustrator Contest
4. Send your submission in an email with the subject line “Illustrators Contest 2026” to: [email protected]
5. In the body of your email include your name as you would like it to appear in any recognition, phone number, and email address.
6. All entries must be emailed by 11:59pm (PST) on March 18, 2026. You will receive an auto-response indicating that we have received your entry.
Judges will remain anonymous.
