What a LitMingle is… A LitMingle is a gathering of children’s writers and illustrators designed to share knowledge, great news, and companionship. Generally, they are free activities offered by the SCBWI-Los Angeles Region.
A LitMingle is a great place to meet local authors and illustrators – people like you who share your interests and goals. At a LitMingle, you’ll have the chance to network, make friends, and get connected.
Though occasionally guest speakers are featured at LitMingles, they are usually meetings that are structured around roundtable discussions about various topics of interest to children’s writers and illustrators.
…and what a LitMingle isn’t A LitMingle is not a fix-it, nor is it a forum for critique, though critique groups can grow out of a LitMingle.
Attend a LitMingle in your area. Most LitMingles meet once per month, with summer and winter holiday breaks. Check the LitMingle Calendar for more information.
Would you like to start your own L.A. LitMingle? If you are interested in starting a LitMingle in the Los Angeles region, please contact Karen Sampson, “Mingle-Meister.” Specific areas in need are Glendale and Southern Los Angeles County.
FOR EVERYONE’S MAXIMUM ENJOYMENT WE REQUEST THAT CHILDREN NOT ATTEND MINGLES.
