Amy Healey is an author-illustrator working in cut paper/mixed media collage. She creates her collage papers by painting and mono printing with acrylics—using found objects as stencils and stamps—and incorporating pencil, pastel, and ink. Her combination of traditional and digital collage often includes fabric, text, and her boys’ childhood art. With an MEd, she taught Montessori for 10 years and took classes at RISD. Amy believes in creating picture books that let children imagine, question, and empathize. She lives a bird-nerd life empty nesting with her husband, a barky chihuahua, and scraps of paper and fabric everywhere. Her debut will be illustrating a nonfiction picture book by Elizabeth Rusch for Greenwillow Books (HarperCollins). She is repped by Gabry Crivilare at Painted Words.
