California: Central Coastal

The Society of Children’s Book Writers & Illustrators Central-Coastal California Region provides programs and services for Ventura, Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo and Kern counties. We are a warm and welcoming group focused on craft and professional support. Programs include an annual Writers’ Day and Writers’ Retreat, Illustrators events, along with numerous workshops, critique opportunities, and free mingle events in each county for networking.

Join us for our annual Writers & Illustrators Day Event on Saturday, September 21, 2024, at the Camarillo Community Center. *** You’ll enjoy speakers, prizes, coffee/pastries and catered lunch, photo opportunities, and a chance to mingle with other writers and illustrators. *** We are in the process of lining up a bevy of amazing speakers (Agents, Editors, Publishers and Authors)! *** Optional Add-On (while supply lasts: Choice of either a live 10-minute Zoom Pitch on Sunday September 22 with an Agent or Editor --or a Written Critique by an industry expert (list coming soon!) handed to you at the end of our September 21st event.
