PAL members are invited each year to submit proposals for providing a six-month mentorship to one of our promising Associate or Full members. Year-to-year the focus of the mentorship changes — from illustration to writing of a specific category or genre. Proposals include your vision for the mentorship, as well as your requirements for a contest that we will administer and you will judge to select the lucky mentee. This year, we are opening it up to everyone. If you are a PAL member willing to step up and coach an emerging creator in your category/genre, we want to hear from YOU!
What the PAL Mentor receives:
– Honorarium
– Contest publicity to include your name, headshot, bio, website links, and/or book sales links
Note: Mentors will write a minimum of two Kite Tales posts – one to announce details of your mentorship, including contest dates and instructions, and a second to recap your experience as a mentor and to publicize the following year’s program.
Accepting proposals for the 2025 mentorship starting 12-15-24. Deadline: 1-18-25.
