Mastering Story Structure

Discover the framework within every captivating tale! Wondering how to plan out your novel? Stuck in the middle of a draft? Seeking a commonsense approach for revisions? This four-week online course will give you a straightforward plan of attack. We’ll peel back the layers of story structure and learn the essential elements all great stories have in common. We’ll explore how to craft memorable characters that intertwine with the plot. We’ll examine the role of settings and learn to weave them seamlessly with your narrative. Workbook pages, a discussion board, and in-person Zoom sessions will help you tailor everything you’re learning to your own projects. By the end of the course, you’ll know the inside secrets of how good stories work, and you’ll have mapped out the key elements for your own.

It's About Time!

Whether you are beginning, powering through to the end, or revising a novel or longer non-fiction book, much of writing is about time. Where's the best place to start? How do you time the key changes that structure your book? Do scenes move at a pace matching the action? When do readers need a breather? And what words and rhythms best echo the pace of your story? A live webinar presented by author and educator, Suzanne Morgan Williams.
