SCBWI Pennsylvania: West

Bring a spooky story written by you or another kidlit author and join us as we swap creepy tales in a picnic setting at dusk in the Allegheny Cemetery! Reading will be followed by a short walk – bring a flashlight! Snacks will be provided, feel free to bring your own to share too! We will meet just beyond the Butler St. entrance. Event is weather permitting.

Art Director Casey Moses will share her journey in children’s publishing and her creative process designing and working with other creatives to develop book covers. She will also provide tips and tricks for your portfolio, social media, and networking.

Sketchy Characters is a group of Picture Book writers and artists. We meet in person monthly for writing and sketching and exercises, coffee and casual conversations. Our illustrators work in both digital and traditional mediums. We also talk about upcoming event ideas. This is a supportive community of artists committed to the Kid Lit craft – join us!
