Featured Illustrator: April

April’s Featured Illustrator, Becky Lance, brings a lifelong love of art and storytelling to her creative journey. Inspired by her grandfather’s artwork and by raising six children surrounded by picture books, she returned to illustration after years as an educator. Now creating primarily in torn paper collage, Becky continues to grow her work through study, critique, and community. She encourages others to “trust the process,” keep practicing, and find their people—mentors and peers who support growth, honesty, and imagination.

Featured Tile Artist - Heidi Aubrey

Each season we feature a different Illustrator's work on our homepage. This season we feature the work of Heidi Aubrey. Heidi lives among the trees just outside Portland, Oregon, on six acres with her husband and a Pembroke Welsh corgi named Leo. Her debut picture book is "Ada and the Goat" (2025, Holiday House / Neal Porter Books). When she's not dreaming up stories, she's exploring the mountain foothills or working on woodland-restoration projects.  If you would like to be featured as our seasonal artist, contact Robin at: [email protected], or Jordan at: [email protected].
